Save energy with CGI Sentinel’s high-performance Low-E glass. It helps deflect the sun’s heat to boost your home’s energy efficiency.
Heat gain and heat loss through windows are responsible for 25–30% of residential heating and cooling energy use.*

In other words, older windows or non-energy efficient windows can increase your energy bills substantially.
See how Low-E coated glass helps improve your energy efficiency below.
What Do Low-E Coatings Do?: Low-E coatings are formulated to transmit energy from the “visible” portion of the solar spectrum into buildings while minimizing the amount of “ultraviolet” and “infrared” light or heat energy that passes through. When heat or light is absorbed by the glass, it is either shifted away by air movement or reradiated by the glass surface.
U-Factor: Measures how good a window or door is at keeping heat in. Lower numbers mean better heat retention.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient: Measures a window or door’s ability to keep heat out. Lower numbers mean better heat resistance.
Adding Low-E coating drops both U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient values.
Low-E lowers both U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient numbers. In fact, Low-E can reduce the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient by up to 50% over clear glass.*
